I'm back and man do I have updates

Well first of all I am back. it has been a long time I know. I already told you all that i was like the worst blogger in the history of blogging. You probably want updates right? Well of course you do. That's why your here. So fasten your seat belts people and here we go.

First of all Colin. After his rather long struggle with "the virus" ,as we are affectionately calling the West Nile he had in august, we decided that it was in the best interest of our marriage, our family and Colin's health for him to quit his job. The long hours, the stress, the things he had to deal with in a day were just getting to be too much. He was working 12-16 hour days and as a result was never seeing the kids or me. He would come home tired and cranky and nobody wanted to be around him. His blood pressure was up to a dangerous level for someone of is age and as a result he was on blood pressure medication. He wasn't eating properly because he never had time and had started to have stomach trouble. I really think that him getting sick was Gods way of telling him that it was time to slow down.

Now he is farming with his Dad and back to hauling grain for farmers. he is loving it the kids get to see him all the time and he is home almost every night for supper and can make his own schedule around Dr's appointments, school plays and parent teacher interviews. His blood pressure is back to normal and he no longer has to take medication. He is eating properly again and his stomach is slowly getting better. It has also done wonders for our marriage. We spend more time together, he isn't exhausted when he gets home so we can actually sit and talk about things. All in all I think it was the best decision that he could have made. Money is a little tighter but I would rather have a little less money and a lot more husband.

In November we found out that baby number 3 would be making his/her appearance in the middle of June. We are very happy and the kids are pretty excited. Well Emily is anyways, Isabelle has just started pointing to my belly button when asked where the baby is. I don't think she quite has it figured out yet, I guess she will in a hurry when we bring a new baby home in a few months. for the first few months it was all I could do to keep down water, now however I am feeling much better and am starting to actually enjoy myself.

I am teaching playschool and loving every minute of it. It gives me a chance to get out of the house, make a little extra money and do something I enjoy. some days it is a challenge since there are 18 three and four year olds. Thank goodness they are split into two groups.

Emily is still struggling in school and we are trying everything to help her out. we haven't figured out if she doesn't know the stuff or just refuses to do it. It is quite the struggle sometimes and frustrates everyone. She has an appointment with a child psychologist so we are hoping that he can help us and give us a few ideas. she is also in skating this year and really enjoying it. It is a lot of running back and forth but it is worth it.

Isabelle is growing like a weed and becoming quite the character. It seems like every day she has a new word or four. She has decided to be a picky eater though and eats pretty much nothing, or at least it seems that way, she must be getting something though because she is now up to 24 lbs. She was a blast at Christmas this year and loved to open presents. every time she opened something it would get a "wow" and a "yay" then she would move on to the next gift . It was really cute and very entertaining.

Christmas was very nice. we spent this year with Colin's family and we actually got to have a a family dinner with both of his sisters which was wonderful. New Years was spent at home with a few friends watching movies. We are such party animals I tell you lol.

So that is the Patterson family update. i hope you enjoyed it and I am going to try really really hard to keep up better than I have been.
