Well where do I start. I believe that when I last talked to you all we were getting the horses and waiting for Issy to have her EEG. Since then it has been a whirlwind of company at my house. My parents were here, Colin's mom has moved in and the SAHM's that we released are now permanent figures on the weekends. Have you ever read that book "if you give a mouse a cookie"? Its a lot like that.
We got the horses home and they are settling into there new home really well. I try to go out there at least 3 times a week to spend time with them. Lately of course because of the torrential downpours we have been experiencing that has been a little difficult. My wonderful sister in law and her friend were kind enough to come out and trim up the horses feet for us. It was not very nice. We discovered that Colin's horse has a nasty case of thrush in his feet. So needless to say I will be spending some time out there trying to fix that. Poor guy I remember how my nipples felt and I can only imagine how his feet feel.
Isabelle had her EEG and let me tell you that was quite the experience. We did manage to keep her awake on the way to the city and by the time we got there we had one VERY grumpy baby. There was no doubt about it she was tired. Then I got to hold her down so that they could put all of the "leads" on her head. More fun I tell you. After that was all done I was supposed to get her to go to sleep. Yeah sure no problem. She has a weird hat on her head, is not in her room or her bed and she has to hold fairly still so that she doesn't get tangled in all the wires coming off her.
I will get right on that for you. Thankfully I am an awesome mom and she was exhausted so she fell asleep. Then about 20 minutes into her nap the nurse says "OK can you wake her up now please?" . Uh say what? Well they needed to see her brain asleep and awake. OK well so I wake her up and let me just say I was not in her good books. Then the nurse tells me it will be 2 weeks before we get the results. Great more waiting. I am getting good at this waiting thing.
Before all of this though we had taken the girls to the circus and they thought it was great. Emily rode and elephant, Issy stared in aw at all the pretty lights and Colin ate so much carnie food that his stomach hurt. It was nice. We got to have fun with the girls and the our good friends the Ivey's all at the same time. Here is a little lesson I learned though. NEVER eat a 3 year olds cotton candy even if she says you can. Cause you know that half an hour later she is gonna want it back and you are going to have a lot of explaining to do.
My parents came out for a week and we had a wonderful visit with them. They had tonnes of fun with the kids and the kids had lots of fun with them. Because they won't be here for Isabelle's 1st birthday we had a small pretend birthday while they were here. Isabelle massacred a cake and got a singing animal train. She loves it. I however find myself curled in the fetal position rocking in bed at night trying to get the song out of my head. Its not going so well. I guess though I should thank God that they didn't buy her the drum set that they had first thought of.
The last exciting thing is that Colin bought his motorbike and wrote his bike learners. He passed with flying colours and is now riding around like a kid with a new scooter. I don't really like the bike. It scares the pee out of me, which by the way is not hard to do after 2 kids, but he likes it so I guess that is all that matters right? I bought him a jacket, helmet and gloves. I figure if he is going to ride it he will at least be doing it safely.
Tomorrow I head to the OB/GYN to get the tests all done so that we can have another baby. I am soooo excited I tell you. Nothing screams fun like spending the day at the gyno's office being poked and prodded. Personally I think that they should pay me for what they do. I mean Colin had to buy me supper at least before he was allowed to do half of what they do. Oh well. That is what happens when you have infertility and want to have babies. Wish me luck.
Well that is all the new happenings at the Patterson plantation. I am off to finish packing up some parcels to mail tomorrow and get ready for my Sparks to show up. Have a good afternoon all.
