Cookies

Well today started off rather quietly. After a full 4 hours of sleep last night. I got a wonderful wake up call from the delivery truck driver who was going to deliver the girl guide cookies. From now on he will affectionately be called "the cookie man" kind of like the "epidural man" for those of you who have had his wonderful assistance in childbirth. The only difference being the cookie man brings happiness that tastes good not just happiness that feels good. Ooh IDEA an epidural man that brings cookies with him. Oh the happiness he would bring...... anyways back to reality. So I got up and impatiently waited for the cookie man. He woke me up at 7 but he was bringing cookies so how can one be angry with that? You just can't.

The cookies arrived at a quarter to 10 and I stacked them in my kitchen. Now let me just say there is nothing in this world that brings a smile to a fluffy woman's face like 20 cases of cookies sitting in her kitchen. After the cookie man left I packed up the girls dropped Emily off at Bonnie's and then headed to the doctor with little miss Issy and her super runny nose. After sitting in the office for over an hour I opted to see the other doctor in the practice. Isabelle has a sinus infection and a chest thing. So more medications for us. Came home and picked up Shailyn and Emily from the doctors office in town and cookie delivering we went. Can I just say that girl guide cookies sell themselves. In the first few hours we had already sold almost 3 cases. This should be a breeze right? Cookies anyone?

Came home put my jammies back on and sat around the house. It was great. Then the unthinkable happened. My father in law showed up for a surprise visit!!! The house wasn't as clean as he likes it, Isabelle is in a sleeper I am in my pajamas and the dog hasn't been bathed since he told me too. I saw him coming up the drive and instantly panic set in and I did the flight of the bumble bee otherwise known as throw shit in closets and anywhere else you find room. Thank God he had Grandma with her and there was ice on the walkway. I swear that must have bought me at least 3 minutes.

They only stayed long enough for fil to get into a fight with Colin about who knows what and to critique the smell of the dog. Let me tell you that was enough though. They left and we had breakfast for supper. Now I am sitting here telling you all about it. I am going to go and sit in a hot bath with my book and a box of cookies. Now if I could only remember where I put my book.....and the bathtub plug, and...............
