Isabelle is 8 months old today. Where did the time go? To mark the occasion she decided that last night it was time to crawl. Up until now she has been scooting along on her butt, or crawling backwards. Last night however she looked at a toy and crawled right over to it. Then sat up and looked at us like "look what I just did." It was one of those moments that you are so proud you could cry. Then of course Colin and I had to throw the toy back and forth to each other and make her crawl for it. After a few times of this however it was deemed "cruel" by Colin and that was the end of that.
The last month has been a busy time for Miss Issy. 2 teeth, sitting up on her own, crawling, feeding herself finger foods and trying to stand up in her crib. The latter resulted in a lowered crib mattress, which she is still not to sure about, but I would rather have her mad about "baby jail" than falling on her head.
Emily has had a pretty busy month also. School is still a struggle which resulted in her losing TV and fun stuff privileges for a while but we will trudge on and hopefully things will improve. She marked the last month with a figure skating carnival, Sparks, and to finish off the month last night she cute her hair. I am not talking a minor trim either. We are talking bangs that are now half an inch long and a chunk on the side that is 3 inches long. I am calling the hairdresser and praying to God that she can fix it. So much for growing her hair out.
The weather has finally warmed up and I am taking every opportunity to be outside with the girls. I think that we were all going stir crazy. So we make a daily trek up to the post office to see if there are any parcels for us. Mail being slow as it is though usually there is nothing but hey at least we got out of the house and got some fresh air.
I have ordered some fuzzi bunz. What are fuzzi bunz you might ask. Well they are cloth diapers. Now before you all go jump on the 'you are crazy" bandwagon let me just say cloth diapers are not what they used to be. I was very anti- cloth diaper until some Internet buddies showed me the light. You no longer have to have a degree in origami and own 50 pins. No, no the cloth diapers of today are just like disposables, minus the throw them away part. They have snaps and are preformed and have a built in cover so no ugly plastic pants either. I am very excited even if I only use them at home I am still sure to save some money. Colin, whom I thought would be totally against them, is even excited. He was however disappointed that I didn't get the lime green diaper that is the same colour as his semi. *insert rolley eyes here* Apparently semi coloured butt is the look we are going for. Oh well he is still willing to cloth diaper so I am not going to complain.
Today's jobs are looking much the same as every other weekday. Clean the house (thanks to a "get together" we had this weekend), rearrange some cupboards (also thanks to said"get together" and a certain person who shall remain nameless and thought it would be funny to mess them up), do laundry, feed kids and make the daily jaunt to the post office to see if the babylegs or Mei tei are in.
Well I am off to do my job and hope you all have a good day.
